Office of International Affairs

 

This collection contains the records of the University of Oregon's Office of International Affairs. The Office provided programming support and staff assistance to the European Studies program and to other programs and faculty initiatives related to Europe.

Through this office and the programs it administered, especially the Office of International Education and Exchange and the Savage Endowment for International Relations and Peace, special lectures and visits by scholars, public officials, and other prominent individuals concerned with European issues were organized or supported, and European students and faculty were provided various kinds of support and technical assistance.

The Office of International Affairs worked with the President's Office to cultivate special relations with European Union officials in Brussels, and assisted faculty research initiatives oriented to the interdisciplinary study of Europe.
