Abstract:
Frederic Ebenezer John Lloyd was elected bishop by the Episcopal diocese of Oregon in 1905. Because of controversy, he declined and left the Episcopal Church, eventually becoming archbishop of the American Catholic Church. The article describes the history of the Episcopal Church in Oregon from its origins to 1905, and the life and career of Dr. Lloyd.
