An examination of her influence on the art world of the west coast and her involvement in the development of the concept and phenomenon known as Pacific Northwest Art provide a focus of the study. Subtopics of this narrative include the concept and evolution of Pacific Northwest art and artists and Portland, Oregon, as an art center during the 1960s. The impact of the donation of her collection to the University of Oregon’s Museum of Art is also examined.
