The personification of each element provides a lens, through which to view the natural world. This lens focuses on both the absolute beauty and spiritual treasures of our planet, as well as its vulnerability and suffering at the hands of humankind. The text, which I have written, and the music that I have composed are intended to prompt one to marvel at the beauty of our world. Hopefully, the work also inspires one to feel the suffering of the earth, in order to bring about meaningful action for the health of our planet. The final movement, 空 Aether, is a vocalise that aims to uplift one in a vision of the wonderful potential of a life lived in harmony with the natural world.en-USAll Rights Reserved.Chamber OrchestraEcomusicologyIntercultural MusicMusic CompositionNew MusicSong Cycle五大 GodaiElectronic Thesis or Dissertation
