Captured October 31, 2008.The US 26 Sandy Gateway Plan will identify needed improvements to enhance highway safety and efficiency along US 26 within the City of Sandy's UGB on the west and east corridors outside of the STA (Pioneer and Proctor Boulevards). As part of this project, the highway cross-section will be refined to provide a transition from the surrounding rural lands to the downtown area, including the design of gateways to communicate to motorists that they are entering an urbanized area. When completed, this plan will serve as a guide for future development and improvement projects along the US 26 corridor.
