Captured March 17, 2009.Announces decision initiating project, including: Commercial thinning 1000 acres of timber stands using helicopter, groundbased, and skyline logging systems in both the matrix and riparian reserve land allocations to generate about 13.4 million board feet of timber. No thinning would occur on 282 acres of riparian or unique habitat areas, or where protection of rare plant species and soils is a concern. Treating activity-created fuels on 609 of the thinned acres by underburning, machine piling, and hand pile and burning. Road reconstruction work includes replacement of twenty six 18-inch ditch relief culverts along with three new ditch relief culverts and six stream crossing culverts. Road grading and ditch line maintenance would occur on 38 miles of existing road.
