The Bear/Marten Watershed Analysis area is a 35,840 acre watershed situated on the north and south sides of the McKenzie River approximately 16 miles east of Springfield and 3 miles east of Vida on U.S. Highway 126. Captured January 21, 2009.The Introduction chapter consists of a general description of the watershed and watershed analysis. The Characterization chapter summarizes the current conditions of important resources in the watershed such as soils, water, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, and vegetation. The Key Issues and Questions chapter highlights the important values, resources or concerns in the watershed. The Current and Reference chapter briefly describes the current and reference condition of the watershed. The Synthesis and Recommendations chapter describes the interrelationship of the various resources in the watershed and suggests management of the watershed; the Recommendations section will be reviewed and possibly refined during the landscape design.
