A factor analysis of the Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES) in 274 patients with dissociative identity disorder (DII)) was conducted as an extension of a previous DES factor analysis in a general population
sample. A principal components analysis yielded three factors in the DID group that were virtually identical to those in the general population.
