    Basque Hills allotment management plan environmental assessment

    Proposes to increase diversity and vigor of upland plant species, especially maintaining an upward trend in Wyoming big sagebrush/bluebunch wheatgrass, by implementing partial removal of livestock. Includes changing the current season of use from April 1 to June 30 (every year) to February 15 to May 1 and August 1 to November 15 (every other year), with use being 2-3 weeks in early spring and 2-3 weeks in late fall depending on water availability. Also includes drilling a well within 30 feet of the centerline of an existing road in the northwest corner of the allotment to provide off season water for livestock, wildlife, and occasional wild horses, and using a small, portable covered generator to pump water from the well.
