The Deschutes County Environmental Health Division (Deschutes County), Oregon Department
of Environmental Quality (DEQ), and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), working in
cooperation, are addressing the issue of groundwater contamination from on-site systems in the
La Pine region. This work plan defines the procedure and quality assurance to accomplish a
scientifically sound and defensible study of new and alternative nitrate-reducing on-site system
technologies, effects upon groundwater quality, and estimation of optimal density. [From the Plan]
