Item Open Access 4th Grade: Improving Writing Skills(2009) Rasmussen, CheriThe 4th grade teachers at CRE participated in the 6 + 1 Writing Traits workshop through out last year. Looking at the scores, there was improvement in the Exceeds/Meets category and a drop in the conditional category. To help support more creative ideas and training I am also researching the Writers’ Workshop Program (Lucy Calkins) which has very innovative, easy to use lessons to help improve the writing skills of our 4th graders at CRE. The Writers’ Workshop Program also provides innovative workshops for our in-services.Item Open Access Accelerating Assessment Practices: Every Kid Ready(2010-03-09) Schultz, DennisTHE GOAL: In partnership with Philomath SD, LBLESD will implement a two-year research‐based plan to develop and enhance the instructional leadership skills of administrators and building leaders as it relates to effective use of data for school improvement.Item Open Access Adding Diversity to Your School by Having an Intern from Another Culture(2012) Yang, LihsienGoal:To have more K-12 schools principals to accept interns from Oregon International Internship Program (OIIP).Item Open Access Adjusting Meeting Structures: Improving Reading Achievement And Behavior Through Collaboration(2009) Megert, BrianTHE GOAL: Improve the efficiency of individual meetings and enhance overall meeting structures by providing focus for existing meetings, eliminating some meetings, and increasing collaboration time for teachers.Item Open Access Baby Talk: Engaging the Community in Early Language Development as a Strategy to Improve K-12 Success(2012) Spencer-Iiams, JenniferGoal 1: Create a community group to a) raise awareness of the importance of language development in the birth to 2 years b) create structures to empower parents to improve early language development c) plan and implement 3 events on Baby Talk Goal 2: Create and implement curriculum for Kindergarten teachers to infuse instruction on basic concepts vocabulary words into their daily instruction.Item Open Access Bridging the Gap: Teaching and Learning German in High Schools by Tutoring with Students from the University based on Mnemonic Devices(2011-03-15) Adamic, BenjaminGoal: Improved teaching and learning of German as a foreign language in South Eugene High School by UO student tutors using a program based on mnemonic devices.Item Open Access Bringing College within Reach: Inspiring and Innovating in the High School Career Center(2012) Rush, KellyGoal: Improve and innovate programs offered by the the career center at XYZ High School to reach a larger and more diverse group of students, helping them achieve the goal of being college and career ready.Item Open Access Building a Comprehensive Assessment System(2011) Krankowski, EdGoal: Through research and a pilot study, CSD selected the Running Record with miscue analysis (Meaning, Structure, and Syntax) as its tool for progress monitoring.
