To help address these issues, the Oregon Health Policy Board created the Oregon Health Improvement Plan (HIP) Committee in January 2010 with the charge of recommending innovative solutions to improve the lifelong health of all Oregonians; increase the quality, reliability and availability of care; and lower or contain the cost of care so it is affordable to everyone. To achieve these objectives, it is essential that we address more than the provision of care. We must also address the social factors that impact the places we live, play, learn and work, and we need to create innovations and new collaborations within our current systems. The Oregon Health Improvement Plan is organized into three goals with corresponding outcomes and strategies that are based on extensive research and community input.en_US
