An accurately written representation of Korean diction has been in my thoughts since my study at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. While studying Italian, English, French and German diction, I came to realize that no manual for Korean diction existed. Originally, I wanted to write a Korean diction manual for Korean singers as my master's thesis. While that was never accomplished, that idea has served as the impetus for this document. This lecture document is A Study Korean Diction for Singers. Such a manual can be useful to Western singers who wish to explore Korean art song. The lecture demonstration will provide a brief introduction to the Korean alphabet, and selected Korean songs have been chosen to demonstrate the pronunciation.en_US
