Abstract

This lecture document, “Developing Artistry Via Thoughtful Practice: A Method Book For Intermediate Flute Students,” is an intermediate method book for young flutists that covers aspects of holistic practice (breathing, stretching, mindfulness, meditation, and productive practice strategies), as well as the development of artistry through the exploration of musicality, tone color, and creative improvisation. It includes etudes for daily practice as well as technical flexibility exercises and standard material such as scales, arpeggios, and thirds.
