Abstract
Announces decision to implement Alternative #3 (Multiple Entry Commercial Thinning) which the EA identified as the proposed action. The proposed action involves the commercial thinning harvest of young (second growth) timber in the Middle Smith watershed. Harvest activities will occur on 387 acres of commercial thinning and seven acres of road right-of-way clearcut and harvest approximately 4.3 MMBF of timber. Approximately 1.24 miles of road will be constructed of which 0.32 miles will be rocked and become part of the permanent transportation system and 0.92 miles will be temporary and tilled after use and returned to the productive land base. Approximately 11.2 miles of public road will have renovation and improvement and 0.7 miles of road will have full decommissioning.
