This strategic plan was written by members of the University of Oregon Textbook Affordability Task Force to fulfill the legislative requirements of Oregon House Bill 2213, which requires all community colleges and universities in the state of Oregon to author a textbook affordability strategic plan. As required by the house bill, the plan includes measurable goals for increasing textbook affordability, addresses how to mitigate the economic impact on the college or university book store, addresses how to advertise low- and no-cost courses to students, includes a statement of academic freedom, and outlines a process for informing faculty of low no cost course materials. The plan is intended for a 3-year period beginning in Fall 2021 and ending in Fall 2024.
