dc.description.abstractScenes from the Poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke is a twenty-five minute work for violin and small ensemble. The accompanimental ensemble consists of flute (doubling alto flute), Bb clarinet, viola, cello, percussion (crotales and vibraphone), and piano. This piece is in four connected movements, and each movement is based on a different poem by the Bohemian-Austrian poet, Rainer Maria Rilke.en_US
