Abstract

EA proposes to initiate a recreation management project to improve the Shotgun OHV trail system by (1) relocating, redesigning, or decommissioning portions of trails that are difficult to maintain or are causing excessive erosion, (2) constructing and reconstructing trails to provide more miles of trails and better linkages between trails and the staging areas, (3) developing a new staging area, and (4) establishing maintenance and monitoring standards. Includes reconstruction, construction, and decommissioning of roads, and construction of new staging area with gravel surfacing, a vault toilet, sign support structures, garbage/recycle cans, barriers as needed, tables, and a loading ramp.
