This project evaluates and compares three structures in Kenscoff, Haiti through Post Occupancy Evaluations in order to determine the strengths of current building outcomes in Haiti and the areas in need of improvement. With all the organizations and groups that travel to and work in developing countries, various methods of designing and building exist, yet very few of buildings are later evaluated to determine the successes and areas in need of improvement, nor advertised for that matter to share with others how to best design in developing countries like Haiti. This gap in knowledge is the foundation of my research. This study focuses on three buildings constructed on the Chances for Children organization’s site in Kenscoff, Haiti. The overarching research question is: How effective are buildings in Haiti at meeting the needs of their users?en_US
