Abstract

Proposes to recover commercial timber value from the Crane complex fire by salvaging dead and dying trees, reforesting burned areas, reducing fuel accumulations resulting from the fire, and restoring wildfire habitat and site productivity by re-establishing vegetation. Includes salvaging 547 acres of the 720 fire-affected acres and hand planting of the seedlings on 208 acres.

Description

44 pp. Tables. The fire is located 3.5 miles southeast of Crane Prairie Reservoir and approximately 12 miles northwest of La Pine, Oregon, within the range of the northern spotted owl (Figure 1), within the LRMP Management Area of General Forest. Captured May 22, 2007.
