Abstract
The appreciation, interpretation, and management of transference constitute a crucial dimension in the treatment of multiple personality disorder. The author offers remarks and observations based on a considerable body of direct clinical experience and consultations to colleagues. The most commonly encountered problematic transferences in work with MPD, the hostile, erotic, and dependent, are illustrated and discussed.
