dc.description.abstract | The proposed action would place conifer trees in the channels of Lobster Creek, Little Lobster Creek, and Briar Creek to provide a base for meeting the standard of "80 pieces/mile of large woody debris, greater than 24 inch minimum diameter and greater than 50 feet in length" as identified in the Lobster/Five Rivers Watershed Analysis (p.31, January 1997). In addition, the proposed project would meet or exceed desirable large woody debris stocking levels as outlined by ODFW aquatic habitat inventory benchmark criteria (Foster et al 2001). Approximately 114 trees in the adjacent late and mid-seral timber stands would be felled and placed in the channels by helicopter. | en |
