Abstract

Provides Line Officers with information necessary to identify and manage a safe, efficient, environmentally sound road system that is responsive to public and agency needs. Recommendations include adjusting maintenance levels on some roads; seeking additional funding sources for road maintenance and improvement; improving water quality and fish habitats by insuring proper culvert size, adequate cross drainage, and adjusting alignment away from riparian areas when possible; protecting wildlife and habitats by relocating roads, reviewing and updating access management policies for on and off road motorized traffic, and enforcing and adding seasonal restrictions; and protecting plants and habitats by treating noxious weed infestations, relocating roads, and minimizing off-road ground disturbances by OHV's.
