This research project is the result of a partnership between the City of Eugene and the University of Oregon’s School of Planning, Public Policy, and Management. The first objective of this project was to identify best practices for peer support models, specifically for the unhoused community in Eugene. In order to achieve this, we interviewed currently unhoused individuals and organizations that serve the unhoused community in Eugene. Our objective was to provide research findings and recommendations on peer support best practices for the unhoused community to the City of Eugene and service providers. As the project progressed, our research expanded to include other opportunities to increase the daily stability of unhoused individuals outside of the scope of a peer support network.en_US
