dc.description.abstractSign ordinance was amended to provide: (1) a definition for the term "electronic message sign;" and (2) regulations for the allowance and prohibition of said signs in various zoning districts. Electronic Message Signs are permitted in all commercial and industrial zoning districts, and for institutional uses in residential zones pursuant to a conditional use permit approval. Additionally, a conditional use permit approval is required for electoronic message signs in the central business district overlay zone. Electronic message signs are prohibited in all residential zones (except for institutional uses as per a CUP) and in the downtown historic district overlay.en_US
