Abstract
Finds no further environmental study is needed for project removing an estimated 160 horses from the Three Fingers HMA to attain a thriving ecological balance between horses, wildlife, livestock, and vegetation. It will also allow for fertility treatment of mares to slow estrus to aid in maintaining wild horse populations at appropriate management levels (AML) and extend the gather period required to maintain AML.
Description
2 pp. It is located in the Mahogany Grazing Unit in the Malheur Resource Area of the Vale District. The HMA is bordered on the east by the Owyhee Reservoir, on the south by the Leslie Gulch Road, and on the north by the Owyhee Dam. Captured August 2, 2007.
