Abstract
“The impact of anxiety upon cognition: Perspectives from human threat of shock studies”, simplifies techniques for managing anxiety. If people avoid their anxiety now, they put themselves at serious risk for mental damage due to threat of shock (a translational anxiety induction) and potentially harmful stimuli at multiple levels of cognition from perception to attention to memory and executive function. The methods we will cover that help people manage their anxiety include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and holistic self care.
