Abstract

Washington County is a recipient of federal funds through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Inherent in the obligations associated with receiving and administering federal funds is the requirement to comply with all of the federal laws, executive orders and regulations pertaining to fair housing and equal opportunity. Under the Consolidated Plan and the Community Development Block Grant regulations specifically, entitlement jurisdictions are required to affirmatively further fair housing in their communities....The purpose of the Analysis of Impediments (AI) is to provide essential and detailed information to policy makers, administrative staff, housing providers, lenders, and fair housing advocates. The AI assists in building public support for fair housing efforts both within a state or entitlement jurisdiction'€™s boundaries and beyond. [From the Plan]
