Abstract

The Polk County Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan provides a set of strategies and measures the county can pursue to reduce the risk and fiscal loss to the county and its residents from natural hazards events....The key activities are summarized in a five-year action plan. The Five-Year Action Plan Matrix lists the activities that will assist Polk County in reducing risk and preventing loss from future natural hazard events. The action items address multi-hazard issues and specific activities for flood, landslide, wildfire, severe winter storm, windstorm, drought, expansive soils, earthquake, and volcanic eruption hazards.
