This research is intended to establish the foundation for further research in Historic Preservation. My interest in Historic Preservation has begun to include the notion that the respect for and preservation of artifacts is only the easy part of the preservationist's (or architects) endeavor - the difficult part is becoming aware of, understanding and protecting those ways of life and values which the artifact symbolizes. This research will focus on the means available to enable that understanding and protection.en_US
