UNIVERSITY OF OREGON GENERAL REGISTER OF THE OFfICERS AND ALUMNI 18l3-1g04 Published by the University, March, 1904 PRESS OF THE EUGENE MORNING REGISTER EUGENE, OREGON PREFACE This is the first General Register to be published by the University. It is intended to give a concise history of the person- nel of the University, as to officers, faculty, and graduates, from the date of organization to July 1, 1904. The Information has been obtained from many sources, but principally from the persons named in the volume, the records of the Secretary of the Board of Regents, the University c-atalogues, ·and the records of the Alumr.i Association. The officers and m-embers of the Board of Regents have been arranged in order of appointment, or election; the officers of 8Jominlstratlon, according to the plan of the Annual catalogue; and the officers of instruction, on the basis of seniority. The data concerning each officer is limited to his career In the Uni- versity of Oregon. In the list of the Alumni appear the names of the graduates of the old Normal Course, abolished in 1884. By formal act ot the Board of Regents }p June 1890, the degree of B. S. was con- ferred on all graduates of the Norm'll Course. The English Course had but one graduate. The degrees of B. L. and B. S. D. haye been conferred only onc-e (1897) in the history of the University. The B. L. degree was confe!Ted on three graduates of the class of 1897 for the completion of the four-year Literary Course. The B. S. D. degree was given to six graduates of a short course in ScientifiC Didactics. The present volume contains the nA.mes of all graduates of the University, Including the class of 1~04. The name of each person known to be deceased Is mal'kel! with an asterisk (*). The last known address is giYen in each case. While great care has been taken t.-. insure the accuracy of the data given, many errors and imperfections will no doubt be found In this first General Register. rhe alumni can effectively assist in the work of keeping a correct and complete register by informing the Univel'sity of any change in address or profession.
