As it was developed and tested for efficacy and effectiveness primarily in North America, it remains unclear whether caregiver-mediated JASPER intervention is suitable for Chinese caregivers. Therefore, this dissertation study was designed to collaborate with Chinese community partners as well as JASPER intervention and cultural adaptation experts to identify adaptations necessary to improve the fit of the JASPER caregiver learning materials and program procedures for Chinese communities and to examine the effects of culturally responsive caregiver-mediated JASPER intervention using adapted materials and procedures on caregivers’ intervention fidelity and children’s joint engagement through a single-subject concurrent multiple baseline study. Findings provide preliminary evidence supporting the feasibility and efficacy of delivering adapted caregiver-mediated JASPER remotely with Chinese families, highlighting its potential for efficacious application in cross-cultural contexts. en_US University of Oregon All Rights Reserved.
