Abstract

This project focused on two major research questions, with several sub-‐questions. The question responses helped provide recommendations for housing-‐focused nonprofits in disaster-‐prone areas: 1. How do local nonprofits engaged in the provision of housing (like Habitat for Humanity affiliates) contribute to disaster response and recovery? 2. What are the existing assumptions/relationships/networks between a housing nonprofit, the local emergency management agency, and their community regarding responding to and recovering from disasters?
