Abstract
My intent in this document is to provide an introduction to nine works, written between 1987 and 2013, for teachers and performers of the viola, in a pedagogically-based context with suggestions for complementary “standard” works – works that provide musical contrast while presenting a similar level of technical challenge for the progressing violist.
