Grounded in a unique multidisciplinary structure, the College of Design is a diverse learning community of students, faculty and staff members. They seek to enhance the lives of individuals and communities through endeavors that stem from intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and broad inquiry, rooted in the inter-relatedness of theory, history, and practice.
Originally named the School of Architecture and Fine Arts, and known for 100 years as the School of Architecture and Allied Arts (A&AA), the College of Design has undergone several name changes and department and program changes throughout its history to reflect its ever-evolving identity.
