Abstract:
This report analyzes university modal share and compares university modal share trends to policies, programs, and the built environment on university campuses. The report contains content analysis of university plans, secondary survey analysis, and interviews of key university transportation stakeholders to identify opportunity areas for universities to reduce reliance on single occupancy vehicles. Findings indicate that specific programs, policies, and built environment features could contribute to modal choice on university campuses. The research presented in the report informs university stakeholders and assists them in implementing programs and policies to reduce single occupancy vehicle use in a university setting.
