Abstract
Announces decision to proceed with project thinning and using prescribed fire to reduce crown fire susceptibility and fire behavior, improve public safety and facilities protection, help restore a dry mixed conifer forest dominated by ponderosa pine, and be economically efficient by providing some commercial forest product revenue to offset the costs associated with vegetation management. Includes thinning from below while retaining 50-70 square feet of pine basal area, followed by mowing of the shrub layer and underburning.
