The City of Brooking[s] (although not required [to] by law), has created a Emergency Operation Plan, which provides a framework by which public officials and emergency responders of Brookings and Curry County plan for, respond to, and recover from major emergencies or disasters. When the plan is activated during a major emergency or disaster, emergency response agencies in the City of Brookings and Curry County may be integrated into a common emergency management system by the guidance provided in the Brookings Emergency Operations plan. The addendum focuses on the natural hazards that could affect Brookings, Oregon, which include: coastal erosion, drought, earthquake, flood, landslide, tsunami, volcano, wildfire, and severe winter storm.
