dc.description.abstract | Announces decision to implement Alternative 3 of project EA, improving and protecting deer winter range by reducing the risk of insect outbreaks, the spread of disease pathogens and high intensity wildfire that could further jeopardize critical deer habitat, which is lacking desirable vegetative shrub and tree composition and structure, and is substantially fragmented by roads. Thinning and fuel treatments include non-commercial thinning of conifers, mowing shrubs, underburning, burning under late and old structure ponderosa pine, and juniper removal with clumps of old-growth juniper left behind. | en |
