The Roseburg District Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposes to fell, buck, and scale sample trees ("sample tree felling") to ensure accuracy of timber cruises for commercial thinning and density management sales limited to the 2009 calendar year. Sample trees would only be felled within proposed sale units.
