| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this inventory report is to provide clear and useful information on the location and the current relative condition of riparian corridors and wildlife habitat located in and along the Willamette River in Portland. The report provides an important historical context for inventory work, and describes how the inventory relates to a number of relevant state, regional and federal regulations. The report also provides an overview of the inventory project approach and basic methodology, followed by an overview of the Willamette River Basin and the portion of the river that flows through Portland. Following these general informational sections, the report is divided into separate sections pertaining to the North, Central and South reaches of the river. An overview of each reach is provided, followed by descriptions and maps for smaller inventory sites. At this time the report contains only the North Reach section. The North reach section was completed first to support the River Plan/North Reach project currently being led by the Bureau of Planning, in consultation with stakeholders and the River Plan Committee.
