dc.description.abstractRedmond's Comprehensive land use planning, required by Oregon law, creates goals and policies that support good jobs and affordable homes, protects natural resources, and preserves historic buildings. The Comprehensive Plan is a guide to the future growth, development and redevelopment of the Redmond urban area within a framework of goals and policies consistent with the physical characteristics, ideas and resources of the community. The Goals and Policies respond to the needs and conditions which exist presently and will provide the initial guidance for future City programs, major capital projects and other funding decisions for the next 20+ years. Redmond's planning challenge is to reinforce and strengthen the livability of our community in the face of rapid regional growth. [From the Plan]en
