dc.description.abstract | The author of this essay describes her personal experiences as an Asian American woman, and the influence of these experiences on the multicultural, shared-leadership practice she brings to academic libraries. Drawing upon over two decades of library management and leadership experience, the author reflects upon the reasons why more Asian Americans and members of other marginalized groups are needed within academic library leadership, and why existing biases and persistent discrimination have made it difficult for them to attain these roles. | en_US |
