| dc.description.abstract | The City of Wood Village began its first citywide transportation planning effort in 1998 after receiving a Transportation Growth Management grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation to complete the requirements of the Oregon Transportation Planning Rule (OAR 660 Division 12), and the requirements of Title 6 Transportation of the Metro "Urban Growth Functional Plan". The purpose of this document is to assist the City in planning and developing an efficient, multi-modal, coordinated method of traveling within and beyond its limits. Implementation of the plan will give Wood Village citizens a greater choice of how they travel, may reduce reliance on the auto, and will contribute to the goal of breathing clean air. The Plan will also improve the interconnectedness of local streets, provide safer pedestrian and bicycle travel, assure coordinated and efficient movement of goods, help accessibility for the transportation disadvantaged and protect the operation of transportation facilities.
