| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this plan is to ensure the future transportation system develops in an orderly and cost effective manner and includes all modes of transportation to the fullest extent possible. The Plan will serve as a guide to local planning officials when making long term transportation decisions. The City is currently completing its Periodic Review of the City's Comprehensive Plan. The Transportation System Plan will eventually be adopted as the transportation element of the revised Comprehensive Plan. Appendix A outlines requirements for small cities set forth in the Transportation Planning Rule, and includes proposed amendments to Harrisburg's existing Ordinances relating to street design standards.
