Zusammenfassung
Announces decision to implement Alternative 2 of the project EA, promoting a more stable channel and restoring the hydrologic function of the Tumalo Creek after the change in stream dynamics following the 1979 Bridge Creek Fire. Includes restoring the channel dimension, pattern, and profile, implemented in multiple phases to restore nearly 2.8 miles of stream to reduce the bank erosion and sedimentation, reduce the loss of wetlands, improve water quality and fish habitat, reconnect the creek to the floodplain, and restore riparian vegetation. Actions include grass seeding and tree and shrub planting, and the use of log jam and vane structures, boulder cross and J-hook vanes, side channels, and side channel pools with debris jams.
