Abstract
Proposes implementation of program with seven goals, with emphasis on prevention and detection, and education and awareness. Includes implementation of an annual weed prevention schedule, partnership with county state weed programs and with transportation departments, implementing BLM and Oregon State education programs, educating and working with contractors and public land users, publishing news articles and participating in local activities and creating educational signing at all major recreation sites. Other goals include: inventory, planning, integrated weed management, coordination, and monitoring, evaluation, research and technology transfer.

The area to be covered by this assessment covers approximately 3.7 million acres
(Appendix A). These lands are located primarily in Harney County with portions in
Grant, Lake, and Malheur Counties in southeastern Oregon.
