The Arts and Administration Program - was the only one of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. It combined knowledge in the visual and performing arts with social, cultural, managerial, and educational concerns that pertain to administering both nonprofit and for-profit arts organizations and programs. Arts management is a multidisciplinary field, dedicated to increasing opportunities in arts and culture for individuals and society. A growing group of scholars critically examines issues in the arts and society from community to international-policy levels. Study of these issues is vital to effective arts management for cultural preservation and professional advancement of the arts in the United States and abroad.

Until 2018, the program offered an undergraduate minor in community arts and master of arts (M.A.) or master of science (M.S.) degrees in arts management.

Arts & Administration studies still exist as a field of interest in the School of Planning, Public Policy and Management. Effective fall 2017, incoming undergraduate and graduate students pursued studies in this academic field within the PPPM Arts & Cultural Leadership field of interest.
