The series of lectures that he delivered while at the University of Oregon were dedicated to rehabilitation literature, including the works of authors and poets who had been returned to Russian readers after 1990: Merezhkovsky, Tsvetaeva, Nabokov, Mandelstam, Solzhenitsyn, and Brodsky.
