| dc.description.abstract | Proposes to implement an ecological restoration project to manage encroaching juniper on both public and private lands by utilizing prescribed fire and mechanical treatments. Includes reintroducing fire to restore and/or maintain natural fire regimes; reducing hazardous fuels, especially within previously treated juniper cuts; moving the species composition and structure of big sagebrush-bunchgrass, low sagebrush-bunchgrass, aspen and riparian communities toward pre-European immigration conditions; improving big game, sage-grouse, and other locally important species habitat; increasing wild horse and livestock forage, and improving watershed health. | en |
